Monkey way to supercharge your browser in five simple steps!

Filed under: Tech — bananaboy @ 3:49 pm

After we have received our first review from Brook Durant’s blog, I would say that we have actually noticed this after a major site theme customization and as we all here to learn and benefit from each other, I thank you on behalf of my friend King Kong and would want to say that we are trying our best to improve the quality and speed. For the mean time we would like to share a way to boost your browsers just to show you how much we love you people.

Let’s get real now:

First, we will start boosting our favorite open source browser which is Firefox:

Firefox icon

1. Go to Start and click on “Run” and type “Firefox” (Windows XP)

OR go to Windows button and just type “Firefox”(Windows Vista).

2. Type exactly this “about:config” in the address bar field.

3. Type “network” in the filter bar field.

4. Scroll halfway down and you shall see this “network.http.pipelining“, and all you have to do now is set it to “True” by double clicking on it.

5. You will also see “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” just below it, and you can go right a head and change the value from 4 to any higher value (i.e. 10) by by double clicking on it.

Second, it’s time to boost Internet Explorer:

Internet Explorer icon

1. On you keyboard keep pressing Windows button and then press “R” (another way to go to Run) and type in “regedit” (Windows XP).

OR click on Windows button and just type “regedit” and run it as administrator (Windows Vista).

2. Follow this route “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings”.

3. You will find two registers which are “MaxConnectionsPerServer” and “MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server“.

4. increase the Decimal values to a higher value (i.e. 10).

5. Save and close every thing and then you can either log off or restart your PC for that to take an effect.

Congratulation you are done boosting your browsers! so now you can brows us faster.
