Review: Kiwi Pulse

Filed under: Reviews — kingkong @ 4:33 am

Overview

When i think of KiwiPulse, i think about tropical fruits and other magnificent fruit also at the same time i am wonder do kiwi’s really have pulses? I don’t think so due to the fact that we definitely know that bananas don’t so therefore by association its impossible for kiwi’s to have them.

Nevertheless, the writer of this blog somehow achieves the goal of giving a kiwi a pulse! This blog touts the ability to keep your attention on the latest topics, such as weird, informative and breakthrough news and stories from around the world featuring categories such as arts, books, celebrities, the environment, foods, games, health, science, travel and more. As a reader of this blog back in its earlier days it has grown and changed many ways, and i would recommend it to everyone!

The Good

Honestly i have been shocked with the quick growth of this website over the internet in the past couple of months, which at the same time as definitely improved in quality due to what attention its getting! The posts are of quality and pertain to the site initial outline, have you ever seen those blogs that begin about cooking, and then some how become the rambling of a middle aged housewife, this blog isn’t one of them! There is always something to discuss and laugh about over at Kiwi which always makes readers come again and again! On a more blogger to blogger note the writer of this blog is a kind and has a great sense of community and will slave over helping you with the most simple things! Trust me we know!

The Bad

This is honestly the part I hate about reviews but lets think of it as criticism rather than whats wrong with the blog. I personally really hate the dont steal my bandwidth picture he has at the end of every post, its makes the blog seem cheap and really unnecessary! Another thing that is very annoying all the post are previews until you click the link to read more, this is not a personal pet peeve everyone hates having to click for something that we should already be shown! Also the sidebars on the right are very crowded, and cause the website to loose focus from the content! And since its called Kiwi Pulse they might consider inserted a kiwi somewhere in there header, also the rock your world tag line seems out of place!

Conclusion

Even though i have been a long time reader and follower of KiwiPulse.com i can’t help but be amazed by its progress as a blog and as informative and intriguing website! I would recommend it for all the people who like here all the latest news about everything and anything ( even a poll on different sexual positions ) KiwiPulse.com is the site for you!

Our New Theme!

Filed under: Ramblings — Abdalla Ahmed @ 6:37 pm

Dudes, I present to you the new theme which Mahdi had been working on hard consistently for the past few days: all embrace the new “blue” look that I am sure looks a million times better than the lame brown one we used to have before! Yes, we have followed the general autumn theme changes which have seen other major blogs revamp their looks. Examples include Shoemoney, JohnChow, Enkay Blog, Darin and so on

The new theme is here to help establish this blog as a legitimate website for resources and guide you to make money online. Now that the theme is done and out of the way, we have a few goals that hopefully we will accomplish really soon. Some of them include a scheduled minimum of 2 posts a day, more “make money online” and monkey business stuff :D

We hope you enjoy this new change as much as we are. If you see any bugs (major or minor) or dont like this theme for whatever reason, then do not hesitate to contact us

A Special Thank You to Enkay for helping us with this kick ass theme! I certainly will be emailing him about my blog when I feel the time has come for a theme change or simple face lift, the guy deserves a coupla bucks!

Note:We are currently updating a few stuff such as the pages and RSS feed links at the bottom so please bear with us!

Social Bookmarking = Traffic & Traffic = Cash?

Filed under: Blogging, Make Money Online — Abdalla Ahmed @ 7:52 pm

Whenever I log on to the net I usually visit my own blog and then after either replying to comments I visit sources to get the latest on the things that may be suited to my blog and write about them. But how can we get visitors that actually come and READ what we write? How can we get a few more comments on our posts, get a lower alexa ranking and ultimately, how can we get more clicks on our Google Adsense ads??

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you “Social Bookmarking“.

What Is Social Book Marking?

On a social bookmarking system or network, users store lists of Internet resources that they find useful. These lists can be accessible to the public by users of a specific network or website. Other users with similar interests can view the links by topic, category, tags, or even randomly.

Other than web page bookmarks, services specialized to a specific subject or format — feeds, books, videos, shopping items, map locations, wineries, etc. — can be found.

There are many ways to gain traffic but I find that traffic from “Social Bookmarking” websites definitely helps to put your blog/website on the map. You can write a killer article and submit it to a social bookmarking site such as Digg and get thousands of visitors coming to your blog within a couple of hours if your post hits the front page. The best thing is there are many social bookmarking websites besides digg so chances are, if you article was not successful on one of them, you may find it flourish in another such as Reddit,Del.icio.us or Stumble Upon.

Look at the figures, he got digged on 9th sep!

Getting that Article on the Front Page

Now this is the hard bit and to be honest I can not give you advice on how to make your killer article receive maximum attention from the digg crowd seeing as I have never had an article on the front page of digg. But things to look out for whilst submitting your article is the title. Without an interesting title, no one will even bother checking the submitted post! Another main thing is, are you targetting the right crowd because fellow “diggers” love pictures, technology and video, if your about to post about some business thing or promotion of your own product, chances are you will get nowhere- trust me, because I have tried :D

Now, for the true evil ones out there, you can literally BUY your way to the front page and that PR8 linkback. There are plenty of websites available on the net, a simple “buy diggs” google search returns the results you want but be warned, bullshit articles wont get you nowhere, in fact I predict the story will get buried within a few minutes or at the very worst; look like this

Now there is this theory that traffic from digg usually means no clicks in ads, in fact this is strengthened by a comment below (which has 80+ diggs it self!)

We Have Ad Blockers!

But I will tell you from my own experience and surveys taken out, that if people see relevant ads (those without ad blockers), you will get clicks. I have had a few articles get 10-20 diggs and that usually means I get a lot more visitors, on most occasions double than the usual daily amount of visitors and 300%+ increase in Google Adsense revenue (from $5 a day to $15-20) which for me is good money for a new blog and definitely a start for anyone.

If you really want to try your luck with social bookmarking I suggest you read Mr.Dean Hunt’s 3 part article about how to really generate that buzz about your blog. This guy is a genius on buzz/viral marketing and with his 3 handy posts, you should hit that front page in no time!

Buzz Marketing 101, Buzz Marketing 202, Buzz Marketing 303

I end this post with a quote from Deans Buzz Marketing 303 post;

Viral marketing is a FREE technique, nobody said it is the goose that lays golden eggs. In my opinion it is the most powerful FREE technique on the net. WillItBlend.com created a hugely popular and profitable company with their viral stunt. So to answer the question of how much money you can make from viral marketing just ask the owners of WillItBlend.com.

Now lets go make the front page - $10 to whoever makes it there first
