Hello Google I would Like to Order a Page Rank

Filed under: Google, Rants — kingkong @ 1:00 am

So I was swinging around the blogging world and I have recently found out that the Copyblogger got his PR increased just by talking to Google. But fortunately for him that they made a critical error that he was accused of selling links when he wasn’t but, unfortunately for us Google doesn’t make mistakes too often, this isn’t a hack for any sorts, but i thought it would provide for a good anecdote. Here it is.

b5: “Umm… Google?”

Google: “Yes?”

b5: “Is this PageRank thing supposed to penalize bloggers who are in blog networks?”

Google: “No, this is a warning to those who sell links.”

b5: “Umm… well, Copyblogger has never sold links.”

Google: “Really?”

b5: “Really.”

Google: “Whoops. Well, we have a problem.”

b5: “What’s that?”

Google: “We’re fresh out of PR 6 designations for this update.”

b5: “What? Are you kidding?”

Google: “How does a nice PR 7 sound?”

b5: “Let me ask Brian.” (pretends to call me)

b5: “Ok, he says that’s fine.”

Google: “Great. Sorry again.”

Note: The part about Google being out of PR 6 designations is a joke, as is the part about having to “give” me a 7. The 7 is the Page Rank the blog would have had anyway but for the “warning” that wasn’t applicable to me. Just to be clear.

Don’t ask me what b5 is supposed to mean, I have no clue :?:

How to Post….. NOT!!

Filed under: Blogging — kingkong @ 11:27 pm

Hello fellow monkeys! This post is to address cultural differences amongst bloggers! Recently i came across an article written up by John Cow, where he dropped the C- word, for those of you who are unfamiliar with the word i would stay that extremely vulgar and graphic word. Anyways couple of week prior to that he dropped the B-word, when he was stating “Our Blog Is Not Your B****” According to Cow he considered the latter a worse word, being from Ireland I can’t blame him, but what he can blamed for is that he wasn’t aware of his audience. This is the first thing I think people should know about it when starting a site, if they want to start a MAC blog i wouldn’t start out by complimenting PC users for example. When you have a versatile blog like him  you must consider that your audience will be versatile therefore you need to broaden your views on which words to use when and what is insensitive or not.

So lets say that you want to use vulgar language, and your not sure whether or not your audience is accepted of such language, ASK THEM! So seriously I don’t have that much sympathy for cow because he brought it on himself, and personally from one blogger to another he is a rude person in life too! So here is keeping an ear out for vulgar and offsensive languages in post, because really how often do you need to use the C-word. Here are some tips on posting correctly and effectively!

Here are ten tips that help me with my blog writing.

  1. Make your opinion known
  2. Link like crazy
  3. Write less
  4. 250 Words is enough
  5. Make Headlines snappy
  6. Write with passion
  7. Include Bullet point lists
  8. Edit your post
  9. Make your posts easy to scan
  10. Be consistent with your style
  11. Litter the post with keywords

Allinanchor.com - Paid “Blogger” Position Anyone??

Filed under: Reviews — Abdalla Ahmed @ 6:39 am

When I first checked out this marketing blog I immediately thought to myself, “yeah, I like this blog”, why? Because of the layout and blog theme which so happens to be the same as my own personal weblog (xaasid.com).

We have really been considering a “featured article” section because this really helps to promote posts which you have really put effort into to stay longer on the frontpage i.e get featured and guess what? AllinAnchor offers this! For the kingkongblog we would use this featured article section to promote posts which have affiliate links and so to help us make money online  but what AllinAnchor does is to promote the best of their work which in turn helps them draw back visitors and increase their RSS Subscriber base.

The blog as gathered from their “about me” page is dedicated to internet marketing:

allinanchor.com is the Internet marketing blog run by the founder of Active Internet Marketing. Having been in the business of marketing consultation, and marketing on the Internet full time since 2001, we have become… ‘Knowledgable’ in the ways of the Internet.

They offer tips and advice for traffic generation and blog marketing. You can also Expect quality posts on SEO. They seem to also cover whats happening in the world of search engines with news on major companies such as google and yahoo and help on communications. Another thing they talk about is how important brand management is to a business and how it affect your future success which I believe is a major factor to generating revenue online.

Infact as I browse their blog, I notice they are currently hiring writers for their blog - paid postions ofcourse:

Do you have news or tips that you think our readers would want to know? Do you want to learn more about Internet marketing, and need an excuse to do a little more research? We are looking for enthusiastic, well-written, and highly-opinionated contributors to our blog. If this is you, contact me (mmyles at allinanchor.com) and let me know that you are interested in writing an article or two for us…..more

All that is left is for them to promote their blog (which they are doing a good job on as they are paying us for buzz and traffic) and perhaps hold a contest (based on SEO maybe?) to increase their RSS Reader Base.

On that note, visit AllinAnchor Today and get ahead of other blogs in SEO, Brand Management…maybe even get a job to Make Money Online!

OSX Leopard On PC

Filed under: Hacks, Tech — kingkong @ 3:00 am

Ladies and gentleman, the guys over at dailyapps, have posted the most recent escapades of installing Apple OS on PCs with limited effort and struggle, the guys at dailyapps have had some server troubles due to this post! Its some crazy stuff we are hoping for the same effect here at the KKBlog, digg it y’all!

They advise you to have all of the following before you attempt to install OS X Leopard

Make sure you backup all important data before you proceed. Here are the things that you will need before Install Leopard on your PC…

  • The Patched DVD Image
  • The zip file containing the patch
  • One pen drive or USB Flash Drive formatted as FAT32

Well once you have all these you can go ahead and Install Leopard..

I haven’t tried it over here but they say that it will install but they don’t guarantee anything driver and device wise. I always enjoy taking on experiments of this nature so it isn’t bad for having fun, but i wouldn’t recommend keeping it as your main OS! Here is the link to the steps for installing OS X Leopard [dailyapps]

MaliSpace - An Exciting New Project?

Filed under: Blogging, Tech — Abdalla Ahmed @ 3:05 pm

What I always look for as a blogger online, is more links and exposure for my current blog and upon that note I am happy to say that when we got an email from the owners over at malispace.com we where more than happy to join their new adventure.

Think of MaliSpace as a online RSS Reader. What we do is syndicate the RSS of other quality blogs (only excerpts) and publish it to our website. This is all done automatically and in 10 minute intervals.

MaliSpace.com is a blog thats essentially dedicated to other blogs - Sounds weird huh? What they do is automatically publish excerpts of posts that have just been published on other blogs WITH the permission of the original blog owner of course. At a first glance it looks like a cheap way to blog and sit back and do nothing but then again, a blog that publishes excerpts (around 50 words of your post) and promotes it for you (title of blog post goes to your post) and gives you a FREE PR2 Linkback? What else could we want?

The idea is to allow users worldwide to visit MaliSpace and see whats going on in the “blogosphere” as we speak, kind of like an online RSS Reader but with the benefit going to the original author as the post is only an excerpt (50 words/4 lines) and the permalink (title of post) is linked back to the original author. The title will be linked to your post via your RSS FEED and you will also have a free linkback via our blogroll for the duration of your continued partnership with us.

All they ask for return is your permission to use your blog RSS FEED and away you go.

So in summary:

Free Listing, FREE PR2 Link back and Free Traffic and Exposure? Get me in there!!

MaliSpace - Get Your Blog “Collected”

Oh, flattery while writing an email will always get you somewhere
