What is Humor?
Being bored out of my mind, I was searching for “humor” video clips online when I came across a website claiming “telling jokes is not humor“. Now, maybe its because I live in England that I find this absurd but it certainly made me blog about it. They basically have like a set of rules where they define what humor IS and what humor is NOT.
What do you mean by “humor,” anyway?
Humor is NOT:
TELLING JOKES:- Most people polled say they don’t tell jokes well, but feel they have a good sense of humor. This shows they know instinctively that humor and joke telling are two different things. If you like telling jokes, go ahead. If you don’t, you don’t have to.
Humor IS:
A PLAYFUL APPROACH:- A light attitude. Openness. Acceptance—even enjoyment—of the unexpected. A willingness to work with what you’re given. In short, a much-needed state of mind in our times of rapid change and high stress!
So cracking a joke is not humor but accepting the unexpected is? Who’s tail are they trying to pull? Were monkeys and dont have a tail anyway unlike the cows!*

They have a few more stuff under their two categories which are more confusing but I’ll let you decide whats classified as humor and not.
What do you think? Is HumorRULES right in what their saying or chatting a load of SH*T!
* That “joke” (even though its not classified as one by the “rules”) is not meant to be a digg at John Cow or any of his loyal readers. ![]()
