Apple says say “John Mayer” when you need tech support.

Filed under: John Mayer, apple, iPod — kingkong @ 6:31 pm

So have many of you been looking for that magic word that gets you tech support within at least 4 days, then the bat signal you were looking for is “john mayer” Remember my article on how john mayer’s ipod comments well he actually did get a response back. Through the internal workings of the apple support staff not through the actual buzz his blog post received. So one guy testing out a theory he had, thought he might as well drop john mayer’s name and see what happened with this problem with his final cut pro. Low and behold the secret bat signal for apple. Here is an excerpt from the email that was sent and the reply received.

Hi Apple,

I heard John Mayer gets personal replies to his comments. Will I also receive a reply? My email is blahblah@blah.com So, final cut pro keeps crashing. It was working fine until software update ran itself today, and quicktime was updated. Since then, I can’t use Compressor to export to DVD because it keeps crashing. This is a huge problem, since I have to present the final copy of a project tomorrow. I’m at wit’s end here.”

Can you tell me more about the situation:

- What machine are you using?

- OS version?

- FCP/Compressor version?

- What content (codec type and source) are you attempting to export to DVD?

- What parameters are you setting in compressor?

- Is this issue content specific?

- If it is content specific can you send me a very small piece that reproduces the problem (a 1sec clip)?

Thanks.
-Ken

Darren Rowse, blogger of the people.

When this monkey is all pooped out from studying logic gates and stupid things check as duality, with my last ounce of energy i like to check out Darren Rowse ( ya i said Rowse, not Rose imagine a new yorker with a heavy accent) over at ProBlogger he always manages to point all the new and upcoming bloggers in the right direction to help them attain the key to any successful blog, other than good content ( he can only do so much ) TRAFFIC! I particularly loved his new post on: 10 Ways to Improve Blog Traffic in 30 Minutes or Less I found it extremely useful and i will post my results as apply them through out this week. I think you should too! Thanks Darren.
