Love the Harry Potter Series?

Filed under: Movies, Ramblings, Rants — Abdalla Ahmed @ 12:44 pm

I love digg, you always find out whats the latest in the world and what I found out today shocked me! I always used to love the Harry Potter series for its wild imagination and sorcery but when I found out that Dumbledore is gay I was left bewildered as to why J.K Rowling would mention or do such a thing regarding a children’s book series.

Warning: This Post Contains Spoilers of Book 7

I wont say I have nothing against homosexuals because I do (god created Adam & Eve not Adam & Steve) but talking about such things and hinting at them in the books is simply insane. As the first comment on the digg post says, when is she gonna reveal the whole series is gay?

JKR: My truthful answer to you… I always thought of Dumbledore as gay. [ovation.] … Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, and that that added to his horror when Grindelwald showed himself to be what he was.

To an extent, do we say it excused Dumbledore a little more because falling in love can blind us to an extend, but he met someone as brilliant as he was, and rather like Bellatrix he was very drawn to this brilliant person, and horribly, terribly let down by him.

Yeah, that’s how i always saw Dumbledore. In fact, recently I was in a script read through for the sixth film, and they had Dumbledore saying a line to Harry early in the script saying I knew a girl once, whose hair… [laughter]. I had to write a little note in the margin and slide it along to the scriptwriter, “Dumbledore’s gay!” [laughter] “If I’d known it would make you so happy, I would have announced it years ago!” (J.K Rowling Talking with an interview)

Among this stupid bit of news, we have one happy fact and that is Neville gets married to Hannah Abbott of hufflepuff (the wimps).

Shoemonkey And JohnHowler Monkey!

Filed under: Blogging, Rants — kingkong @ 2:30 am

I am assuming many of you have seen the link below my recent posts.

Shoemoney is a fool so subscribe here at the full rss feed at the king kong blog dot com

Well this is due to a post a couple days ago I found at his site, which basically said talk trash about people you want business from and them send them an “email” saying how they could fix what you trash talked about, in hopes that they will hire your or give you money for such an “email”!! Honestly how stupid could you be? I don’t think that it was Shoemoney was the one that posted that, but even though he should moderate what he allows on his site better than that! I was just shocked as to how stupid it was, that it was getting decent commentary i see 30 different posts a day which receive little to no commentary daily and content is thousand times better than that post in particular! John Chow for example, for a month there was using his site was like a personal bitching dairy, he was complaining about taxes and all this crap! I understand you can’t post great content everyday, but don’t bitch about taxes! Like what’s the thought process that goes into that:

In the morning at the Chow’s House

Inner John Chow: oShit i have to post today!

John Chow: Oh whats this? *opens a letter* Freaking taxes!

Inner John Chow: taxes?

John Chow: I know lets bitch about taxes online, make some money baby hehe!

Now don’t get me wrong these two blogs are very great and I have gotten great content from both, but lets open our eyes a little more! Now this crazy contest they have going for who can get the most subscribers in the month of October is so lame its almost unbelievable, they are treating the masses as if they are cattle which will bend to there will, its like there in the matrix, and there both variations of Neo! During this month neither of them have produced any content related to blogging with much relevance other than the big contest between them! So what am i saying don’t be treated like a cow, and start your own revolution, meet people online through blogging and build relationships and continue to thrive the correct way and don’t get a bloated head because people enjoy and visit your site! And don’t assume that bad post choices wont affect the overall outcome and quality of your blog! John Cow is another type of fool where i don’t get started on as of now because i just might get too angry!

The point of this rant is to decree to you! that! No matter how big, or if i stay the same or worse there will be content management, response to reader emails, and overall interaction on a site that i run! Rather than posting something( or even worse having someone else post it and not even read it) then proceed to read the comments and not reacting to anything said(may be due to the fact of not reading the posts in the first place) , because i am too good for it or i have too many other things to do (busy man facade). So all i am saying is guys step up your game, I enjoy both your blog but this contest is too arrogant, so come on baby, SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!! So readers instead of subscribing due the contest subscribe due to content on the site and the character of the blogger himself! shocker huh?

Binder = Laptop Stand?

Filed under: DIY, Rants — kingkong @ 3:03 am

To be completely honest, i enjoy making things rather than buying them! Since if i make them myself i can never run out, and i will never feel ripped off because i would be the one making it, and it makes customization a lot easier. Today we bring another great way to make use of those binders you bought in first year university or college that you thought you couldn’t live without which are now collecting dust. We are going to make a much needed laptop stand, the other day i was sitting in bed using the laptop for long periods of time, and i found one my two balls to be aching considerably, so i told my friend that explained the heat and vibration of the laptop, can cause long term effects and considerable short term pain! So to spare anyone else such a pain i bring you this! ( Disclaimer this DIY doesn’t eliminate all ball aches and pains just laptop related ones  )

What you need

  1. A stable ring binder, optimally with the latch not sticking out of the top to prevent scratches
  2. 40cm aluminium rail (0.5mm thick, 1.5cm depth/height), normally used for securing edges, its available in every utility store
  3. 40×1cm felt or fabric, to prevent scratches
  4. Double-sided adhesive tape
  5. Two small metal clamps, normally used for securing letters
  6. Optional: Some black anti-slide mat to cover the ring binder

Instructions

  1. Cut the aluminium rail to the length of the ring binder with a metal saw
  2. Round the cutting edges
  3. Place adhesive tape on one inner side of the rail
  4. Drill two holes towards the sides big enough to hold the metal clamps
  5. Fit rail to one edge of the ring binder
  6. Drill holes through the binder as well, and secure them with the metal clamps
  7. Fit the strip of felt on the other inner side of the rail (which will hold the laptop)
  8. Secure the sides of the clamps facing the laptop-bottom with tape to avoid scratches

Warning

If your laptop-bottom tends to heat up with high CPU-usage, a paper-based ring binder might pose a fire hazard. Consider using an aluminium binder, leave some room for ventilation, or cut venting-holes into the binder top.

Google Against BlogRush!

Filed under: Blogging, Rants — kingkong @ 1:14 am

Once again, Google and its terms of conduct have come in the way of generating traffic and letting bloggers increase there traffic and readership! This is a direct excerpt from there blog!

We understand that our publishers are always looking for ways to attract interested users to their sites. But using third-party tools or services to increase your site traffic may lead to invalid clicks or impressions and result in your account being disabled. For this reason, we’d like to provide you with some guidance about this.

As many of you already know, our program policies strictly prohibit any means of artificially generating ad impressions or clicks, including third-party services such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, auto-surf, and click-exchange programs. These programs offer incentives for users to view web pages or click on ads, resulting in activity that is harmful to our advertisers.

We occasionally receive questions from publishers interested in using traffic exchanges to bring traffic to their site. While these services may help advertise your site, we don’t recommend using them, as they may also result in similar invalid activity. We realize that you may have questions about a specific traffic service and whether it could potentially create invalid impressions or clicks. However, please understand that we’re unable to comment on any particular third-party service.

So should you use BlogRush in order to increase your traffic, and potentially generate more money! This monkey says yes, because every week Google slows down bloggers opportunities to make more money, and this blogger isn’t going to let Google to slow him down! so I say click my BlogRush link and give Google the finger! ahem i mean the banana, you choose where you stick it Google! Most likely they will come up and make a blog post saying we can’t give them the finger saying it violation of terms!

Monkey 1 World of Arbitrary Coding Practices 0!

Filed under: Blogging, Contests, DIY, Rants — kingkong @ 5:28 am

YAY! For lack of a monkey sound that we could type to express, my relief that we got the site’s new theme up and running! It took me and KiwiPulse, quite awhile, to agree and decided on what was possible with the blogs theme, but we finally got it done! I really love the new header! We would love some user input on it, (please don’t ask about the six pack on the monkey’s butt, were as stumped as you are) we trying to give off that hardcore monkey feel with let us know if we pulled it off! KiwiPulse, is a new blog he discusses things such as web, fun stuff, and general stuff you don’t want to read but just end up reading anyway! I will be writing a full review sometime this weekend! Thanks to alllll of you who helped out with the feed burner full summary issues, the issue was due to the fact that when I started up my blog, I used RSS .92 instead of RSS 2.0 which allows full summary post, as supposed to previous versions of RSS! We will be writing to tutorials in order to help other people with this situation! We also have another up and coming series called Monkey Rage, so dig out all your bottled up angry and write a post about something you don’t like, and let out that rage. It just might get you featured! Its August now, we had a phenomenal first month blog world wise, not so much with the money, but here at the KingKongBlog we strive to build interrelationships now, and enjoy the heaps of cash later! Thanks again to MsDanielle and Enkay for all there help with the feed! Oh yeah, before we forget, we entered a blogging challenge over at OneMansGoal, so all the visits, links backs, and favs at technorati the better, if we actually do win something ( no prize as of yet) we will split it with all the commentators!
